How can you help the West Texas Explosion Victims?




We were all deeply sad to hear about the fertilizer plant explosion and how close to home it was. There are many ways we can all help out our neighbors in their time of need. Anything from donation drops offs to donating blood below is a list of resources to help you find the closest place in Houston where you can donate to the cause.


Mattress Mac has agreed to use his store on 45, his trucks, his drivers, and their resources to accept donations until 5pm and to get them to West, TX “TODAY!”
Any donations will be accepted.  Toys, clothes, cell phone cords & batteries.  Anything that people whose home just burned could use.

Hillcrest Hospital - Waco
Carter Blood Centers
The Blood and Tissue Center of Central Texas needs O-NEGATIVE blood donors.  Please donate at their North Lamar location.

Red Cross of Central Texas
Make a donation by phone by calling 254-523-4985
Text REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation.

The Capital Area Food Bank serves 21 counties in Central Texas including McLennan County where the explosion happened.
They are asking people make a donation online to assist in their relief efforts.

Carter Blood Care Center will accept donations beginning at 9a.m. Thursday in Waco

Carter BloodCare will be holding a blood drive at Providence Thursday between 11a.m. and 5p.m.

Extraco Events Center will be setting up to take donations starting tomorrow at 9a.m.. For information call 254-776-1660

HEB Pharmacy in the Woodway area is staying open all night to help accommodate West residents who may be injured and need prescriptions filled.

Oncor Power Outage Information
Scott & White Blood Donation center is open until 2:30a.m. Thursday and will reopen at 8a.m.
Turner's on Austin, located in downtown Waco, is taking refugees with pets. The address is 721 Austin Ave. Contact Shane Turner at (254) 644-7904.
